- Why do I need to register?
- Only GEO members are eligible to vote in a GEO election, and registering to vote helps us to verify that you are an active dues-paying member at the time of voting. Therefore, any graduate employee interested in voting must register first. To register for membership and voting no student ID is required; just email your form from your UMB email address.
- How do I register to vote?
- All student employees interested in voting will be required to complete a membership/voting registration by filling out our Dues Membership Form — download it here — and sending it from your UMB email to geoumb.elections@gmail.com. Only membership/voting registration PDF forms emailed from your UMB email account will be validated.
- When do I register to vote?
- Voting registration will be as follows: Starting on September 23rd until October 7th, 5.00 pm EST (two weeks prior to elections), ALL graduate employee students are able to register to vote for the upcoming elections.
- How do I know I have successfully registered?
- Upon receipt of your membership/voting PDF form, you will receive an email confirmation.
- Do we send a list of registered voters to candidates?
- NO, GEO does not share membership/members personal information with anyone outside of the Organizing Committee.
- How do I vote?
- Only pre-registered members will be eligible to vote. The last date to register for voting is on October 7th by 5:00 pm. Once members have successfully registered, they will receive an email from GEO with an unique (one-time-use only) voting code and link, which will be assigned for each eligible member. Instructions on how to vote via electronic ballot will be sent with the ballot link on the morning of Thursday, October 8th.
- What if I experience technical difficulties prior to or the day of voting?
- The GEO organizing committee members will be available for support from September 23 to October 7th at 5:00 pm for questions and support around voting registration. From October 8th at 8:00 am through October 9th at 10:00 pm GEO organizing committee members will be available for questions and support around voting. However, voting will still be open via the link until October 9th at midnight (11:59 pm), but be aware there will be no tech support past 10:00 pm.
